Dr Apps took a rather unconventional route to becoming a doctor.  She first studied medical sciences at the University of Birmingham (UK) following which she attained her membership of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.  However, her passion for medicine couldn’t be stopped and so she completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Warwick (UK) qualifying in 2011.  She then gained experience in different medical and surgical attachments before undertaking training as a GP.

Whilst completing GP training in London she also undertook extra qualifications in women’s health which enable her to fit all kinds of contraception including the Implanon and IUD. She enjoys all aspects of women’s health including antenatal and postnatal care and also managing the symptoms of menopause. Dr Apps is also able to provide advice and medical management for unplanned/unwanted pregnancies.

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and also enjoys occupational medicine, as part of this she has also recently completed the training in order to deliver medicals for category 1,2 and 3 rail workers.

She also enjoys teaching the doctors of tomorrow and is a registered supervisor with both the University of Wollongong and the University of Sydney.

Outside of work she enjoys keeping fit with the occasional run, live music and travelling as well as spending time with her family.
